We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Manager to oversee and enhance the Third Party Information Security Risk Management (TPISRM) program in Aviva Canada. Leading a team of security professionals, you will play a key technical and leadership role for governance and oversight of Aviva’s third party security risks. You are comfortable partnering and developing relationships with various internal teams including IT, Legal, Risk, Supplier Assurance, Privacy, Data Governance, and Business to drive and improve the program.

What you'll do:

  • Lead in the development and enhancement in the Third Party Information Security Risk Management program to drive risk-based outcomes and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to the team’s information security assessments and contract deliverables.
  • Ensure security reviews are properly executed and risks are appropriately managed in accordance to approved processes and tools.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Monitor and escalate issues to leadership as required.
  • Deliver effective periodic reporting of metrics for management and stakeholders.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of security professionals in terms of performance and career development.
  • Manage the team’s hiring process and contribute to attracting and retaining talent.
  • Promote alignment to Aviva security standards and processes.
  • Keep up to date with upcoming industry trends, technology developments, and regulatory changes.

What you'll bring:

  • 7 to 10 years’ of progressive experience in cybersecurity risk management, vendor assessments, and application security design & architecture.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity industry standards, principles and practices, as well as risk concepts.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements in Canada and challenges facing third party risk management. Knowledge in the financial services or insurance industry is an asset.
  • Familiarity with and ability to interpret contractual terms.
  • Proven management and leadership skills in communication, prioritization and developing talent.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate through ambiguity and guide team through changes.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise manner to a wide range of audiences and stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand complex processes and make sound judgement calls.
  • Ability to negotiate and influence others to achieve optimal results.
  • Knowledge of Ariba, Archer GRC or equivalent platforms.
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT security, risk management, or comparable professional training.
  • Professional designation relating to cybersecurity or IT risk (e.g. CISSP, CISA, CISM, CCSP/CCSK, GIAC) preferred.
